That file is normal at /, or if moved it should be located at roots homedir.
If you look in your .profile it should stand there where it looks when sourcing it.

if I do a search with find /-name, can not find anything.

This file isn't part of Solaris but related to a service described here: Sun - Installation Services - Installing systems, installing servers

Did anyone use the EIS cd to install patches or anything? If not, you won't find it there if they did not source for the profile. Its ok if you don't have the file

You can find this file in etc dir

/etc/.profile-EIS
