eXceed and Solaris 10 - General Problems

Greetings!

I do no like Exceed, but it all I have. First of all, I started my Solaris 10 with a bare minimum base install. I have built up from it with additions like sudo, gcc, and various other packages that I have needed. Now, I am trying to get Exceed to connect with the server and display a desktop like environment so Oracle is easier to install and manage.

Here are my X11 packages on Solaris 10:
SUNWxwplt
SUNWxwfnt
SUNWxwrtl
SUNWxwplr

I have been trying to find the package for xterm, and I can not find it. Preformed a find / -name xterm and nothing arose.

I'm clueless where to start. Exceed just brings a failed notice without much detail. I do know that in the Xstart, it will connect and tell me that the command is not found (I had to put something in the command field). That is about it. I'm assuming this is an easier task for someone who has done this before. Any help?

Thank you sincerely.

Try /usr/openwin/bin/xterm

xterm not found

ksh: /usr/openwin/bin/xterm: not found

find / -name xterm returns no results

Sure, you installed a bare minimum install which doesn't include xterm. That's a wrong approach with Solaris 10 and older as there is no simple mechanism to install a package while having the dependencies handled automatically.

Well...

So I believe my task on hand currently is to find the xterm package on this CD?

even if you find it, you have to resolve all dependencies manually! maybe a clean new install with a larger install cluster would be a better approach...

A FULL install cluster off of this Solaris 10 disc also does not provide xterm. As far as pkgadd from the Product folder on the disc, it does indeed label and note the dependencies. So even with a full install, there is no xterm. Any other ideas? What is the SUNW package for these things? Any ideas?
