Hi,

I need to mount the Solaris 8 OS filesystem in order to replace a lib, concretely /usr/lib/ld.so.1.
I'm able to boot in single mode with the installation CD, but I'm afraid to mount the root partition because I don't want to risk break the mirror.
I tried to follow Performing System Recovery (Solaris Volume Manager Administration Guide) - Sun Microsystems, but in step 6 (metainit -r) i got: "there are no existing databases".

Can anybody help on this?

Just mount the root filesystem and make the required change withour any fear. That won't harm your mirroing becaused whatever changes you will be making, that will be getting updated to its mirror when the mirror comes up.

If you fear, break the mirror before you do any changes to your system. At least you will have a good backup. Change your boot disk to raw device. make changes. reboot and verify if all ok. if good, then mirror back the disks.

Solaris 10 MPXIO doesn't recover path failure

I have been running some tests with solaris mpxio, dual-pathed to HDS SAN storage. When I take a path offline, Solaris recognised this and a path is shown as offline in luxadm display <device>.
