Help with solaris files backup

Hello, I'm Antony, new solaris user.
I need to back-up an old solaris disk.
Currently I have installed the Open Solaris operating system on my computer and a USB device I tried to read data on a hard drive with an older version of Solaris, when i try to open the device the operating system tells me "cannot mount device", even if the hard disk is diplayed in the computer folder.
Despite the attempts of any solution has proved useless I can't view data in the hard disk.
Can you tell me if there is any program that makes copying the contents of the disc and convert to a format readable by windows?
Thanks in advance for your advice

I think trying to read it from windows is a bad idea (windows is not compatible with a lot of filesystems and it's really hard to get one of them working).

Are you sure the disk you're trying to read is not a part of a RAID, for example? What's the partitions filesystems type?

I checked, is not part of a disk in RAID mode. My problem is that I can, through Open Solaris, to execute mount the USB device. I must not erase the hard drive so I need some program that allows me to do a rough copy of the files contained in the old hard drive so as not to damage it. Tell me if there is any free program that does this?

The file system is definitely Solaris, I do not know which version. I think it is a version 3 or 4 years ago. Was installed on a computer driving a letterpress printer Kodak Digimaster 9110. Its purpose was to provide the print queue and the device drivers needed to operate.

it runs on the output of an Adobe RIP powered by a SUN UltraSparc 60.

I attempted to mount my old hard disk on ide to usb converter device just for reading old data and making a backup.
I need to mount this device 'cause I have to check if there are sensitive data, before returning to the dealer printer.
I can not format the hard drive because I would pay for the programs installed, I selectively delete files, before to remove this data I need to see if there are.
