Session starting problem
When i start a CDE session on Solaris 9 it starts the Gnome desktop for like five minutes with nothing on the screen except the background then it enters the CDE environment

and when I enter (new session) Gnome environment it takes 5 to 10 minutes then the session starts

so I wounder why it takes so much time ??? Smilie

And I am not an expert in unix Smilie
and I have searched the forum and I did not find anything related

Maybe your system is slow??
What are the system specs?

the system was not slow before my colleague did something she did not know what it was

so any help..Smilie

This is not a very good excuse Smilie. We need to know what was done in order to determine the root cause

actually that is what I need help with
I need to find the error or what happened so as then try to fix it hopefully

so is there any command which can tell me what the problem is
or is there anything that I should do so as to know...

and I am sorry because my colleague does not know what she did !!!
I mean that is the situation what can I do...
