Well, I don't remember exactly, where I read most about it. Yet I remember pretty clearly:
- Speed comes from: ZFS and kernel built-in CIFS/SMB server
- Only OpenSolaris comes with CIFS in the kernel.
My number one reason for Solaris is speed, so I want to get most out of it, does that sound reasonable?
You are definitely right about the "OpenSolaris no good in productive environment"-thing, I just realized OpenSolaris dumped me in a grub-shell right after installation, doesn't provide a lot of convidence for the future
