Your memory and CPU will utilise.

Why the memory ?
Fan rpms, cpu temp. and power drawn are all likely to increase.

power drawn or fan speed will only increase when one of the redundant unit has faulted (if applicable), otherwise it wont be the case jilliagre...

There are definitely cases where power drawn and fan speed will increase in such a situation, regardless of fan redundancy.

An idle CPU might (should) require less power than a loaded one. This is actually desirable to save the planet from global warming and energy waste. For example an UltraSparc T2 uses between 60 and 123 Watts depending on its load. Whether this has a measurable effect on the fan will depend on many factors.

For example, my laptop easily turns itself into a powerful hair-drier if I keep the CPU loaded for time enough.
