Problem by cloning boot disk.

Hello guys!
I use the Solaris 10 x86 machine.
I need to clone the boot disk.
Why, when I copy slice 1 - there is a following:

# ufsdump 0f - /dev/rdsk/c0d0s1 | (cd /mnt && ufsrestore rf - )
DUMP: Warning - super-block on device `/dev/rdsk/c0d01` is corrupt - run fsck
Dump: The Entire dump is aborted.
Volume is nit dump format.

What do I do incorrectly?
Thanks.

To keep the forums high quality for all users, please take the time to format your posts correctly.

First of all, use Code Tags when you post any code or data samples so others can easily read your code. You can easily do this by highlighting your code and then clicking on the # in the editing menu. (You can also type code tags
and
by hand.)

Second, avoid adding color or different fonts and font size to your posts. Selective use of color to highlight a single word or phrase can be useful at times, but using color, in general, makes the forums harder to read, especially bright colors like red.

Third, be careful when you cut-and-paste, edit any odd characters and make sure all links are working property.

Thank You.

what is your intention for cloning? why not use a raid1 configuration?

if you just want to copy the whole disk, use slice 2 for you operation... i've done this only on sparc systems (which have another disk layout), so i don't know if this works on x86 systems. but i think so...

At x86 mashine I do small training.
But really I need to clone the disk by SPARC mashine.
The SPARC machine operate the Plant.
I`m afraid to spoil the Solaris 2.6 on the SPARC mashine.
You sayd, that I need use only slice 2 for the cloning.
And what I need do with another slices?

slice 1 is swap space.
it if not a ufs file system, ufs dump cant read it.
you have no need to clone the swap space.
