Hi Gurus,

One of our test servers is unable to come up. Its v240, I am unable to connect to RSC also. when I am trying to ping the IP assign to RSC its coming “no answer from <IP>.

What all can be done to get connect to server RSC??

Two resolutions are possible.


1. Remove the RSC card itself, then power-on, it should go to OS directly.

To remove the card, you need to call SUN support, or if you do it, then you can use the documentation for correct procedure.



2. Connect to the machine through serial cable. This should come no matter what.

in order to quit OS and go to RSC.

Since the server is currently down. I suggest you power it off, connect serially, and then power it on.

v240's have LOMs, not RSCs, but, the old LOMs ether ports connected at 10 HDX like RSCs, IIRC, so check the speed/duplex of your connection to the LOM.
