Hi all

I have to take the backup of whole system using flarcreate command. can anyone tell me what is the purpose of -R option.am not getting clear picture from the man pages.

This option allows creating a flash archive from a different OS filesystem than the one currently running. The "/" of this OS must be mounted somewhere.

Code:
     -R root
           Create the archive from the file system tree rooted at
           root.  If  you  do not specify this option, flarcreate
           creates an archive from a file system rooted at /.

where is the problem in understanding this?
