ufsdump/ufsrestore is native and works well for ufs file systems. Amanda uses the native tools, so they fit together just fine. If you want to do file system snapshots before doing ufsdump from within Amanda, see

However, if you are using zfs file systems, the game plan changes. ufsdump is not applicable. There isn't what I would call a perfect solution, but with Amanda, you have options. See
