Using 'swap -l' I can get the disk based portion of swap.

What if the swap (/usr/bin/swap) command isn't available. What are my options then? Could I get this number with kstat?

From /etc/vfstab, I can see the partitions that are reserved for swap.
/dev/dsk/c0d0s1

using df however not only gives me the size of the above but also of the physical memory portion of memory that is also considered swap. I need the disk based portion only.

I tried 'ls -al /dev/dsk/c0d0s1' but that's obviously not correct and only works for file based swap files. So

ls -al /devices/pci@0,0/pci-ide@7,1/ide@0/cmdk@0,0:b

doesn't produce anything. Is there another command I can use to get the disk based portion of /dev/dsk/c0d0s1?

This brings me to the original question, how do I get the disk based portion of swap on Solaris.

prtvtoc /dev/dsk/c0d0s2 --> check for slice 1

Thanks incredible. That works on my Solaris 10. Forgot to mention this is Solaris 8 (Sparc, SunOS 5.8)

The command prtvtoc isn't available either on this installation. Any other options?

format -> choose disk -> p-> p
