Operating Systems Solaris Need description on System Controllers

I feel I need to add a bit here :-)

Recently I had a similar situation with a 6800. Both Sc's were uncontactable, so I rebooted the slave via the reset switch on the front and it came back online. I then tried to pass the MAster SC's `master` status over to the slave, then reboot it, but I couldnt.

So, naughty as it sounds, I did a bit of live testing, and manually reset the uncontactable Master SC. I reset the unit via the reset button on the front and instantly one of my domains went off line.

So, 1/100 times when you loose your SC, your ok. But every now and then you will get problems.

When you say the SC's are down, do you mean phyiscally off ?? Or just uncontactable ?? If the later, then they are still perform thier monitoring time / speed actions on the domain.

I think the best way to think here, is that if your SC's go down, best to reserve some time to shut domains down and get those SC up and running.
