Hi Thanks for reply, sorry but no idea about this. I did not know this is something that is needed to be done on systems before doing scinstall.

someone suggested correctly
svcs -xv

it was inetd which I had disabled on both systems which was culprit

enabling helped! meaning the scinstall process did not hang when second node came up.
