Hi Folks,
As i was using solaris os i came across with this terminology c0t0d0s0?
i came to know its controller no.,target no.,disk no.,slice no. but what does those mean ? what are these nos.?
this is the convention for naming SCSI devices files. c represents the number assigned to a particular SCSI controller, t is the target number of the device on the SCSI bus (e.g. 0 - 15), d is the device or LUN number but is usually 0. the s bit i am unsure about as i dont really use but relates to a logical slice within the physical drive.....
Not safe for you to do administration on systems unless you're trained to do so.. But getting bits and pieces of these info might not help in the long run.
