I had a disksuite mirror with two sub-mirrors which I wanted to expand.
To expand this I had the bright idea of detaching one of the sub-mirrors and doing a metaclear on that submirror - then re-sized the underlying partition ( doubling it in size ) then I did a metainit on this partition as re-attached it to the mirror.
Once it was synced I did the same procedure with the other submirror.
However what I now have is a mirror of 4 Gb capacity but both the sub-mirrors showing at 8 Gb capacity.
How can I get the mirror to be the same size as the submirrors ( without destroying the data that is on there )
I have tried the obvious reboot and can find anything obvious in the meta..... commands.

try growfs

growfs will not work as the mirror d2 is still showing as 4 Gb not 8Gb like the submirrors.

Has anybody got any other ideas ?

Can you break the mirror, metaclear, then do a reinitialisation?

will that not destroy the data in the sub mirrors ?

Nope, it will not destro your data, you're merely detaching and clearing the mirrors that you created.
