Color For List "ls"
Hello to everyone in the unix.com community.

Like the title says. I cant seem to figure this out. Much like ubuntu does, i'd like to have different colors for different file types or directories when I list. Is there a way to edit my profile in Solaris to do this?

I do work on production boxes so my hands are a bit tied as to adding certain files to other directories other than my home (which I believe was an option for opensolaris given some work). Any suggestions/solutions? Thank you to all in advance.

i believe you need the GNU fileutils or the coreutils. afterwhich you set up an alias for that version of ls. its something like
Code:
alias ls='path/to/gnu/ls --color=auto'

grab the pkg from sunfreeware.com
