I upgraded solaris 8 to 10 using live upgrade process . Now the release shown on the machine is

I understand Solaris 5/08 also is available and I have the DVD for the same . Is there any shortest way , I can make the release latest for this server with the help of this DVD .
I found I need to run patch analyzer script in the DVD . However once I run what is the best way to run the upgrade process ie from Solaris 8 OR Solaris 10 3/05 ? . I can afford some downtime but I want to preserve my solaris 8 environment.
Will this upgrade in solaris 10 environment make solaris 8 inaccessible by virtue of any patch changes making it in-operative .
Ive googled a bit, but could not find out how to upgrade to Solaris 11.2 beta, using the IPS package manager. Does anyone know how to do it? (4 Replies)
