Solaris service tag
Hi all,

please can any one help me to know the service tag of the solaris machine .Is there any command to get the service tag from remote machine which has been connected through telnet or ssh.

check if this package is installed on our system
pkginfo SUNWservicetagr
By convention, the command is svctag

Than q for help but No that is not installed in my machine.here I am looking for nay generic command..
can any one help out on this........

Install the necessary packages:

SUNWservicetagr
SUNWservicetagu

then: man stclient

Before you can use service tag command you have to install service tag packages. The service tag packages are SUNWservicetagr, SUNWservicetagu & SUNWstosreg. You can install these packages through STB from here.

Once you have installed servicetag packages, try command stclient -x. I guess this contains the OS registration details

In the remote machine I don't permissions to install any packages..
Here I am seeking any built-in command for service tag like dmidecode in linux
