Total Neophyte needs Mouse Help

Hi everyone -Long story short, I'm a complete neophyte that is as green as the day is long (but I want to learn).Anyways, I have installed a fresh version of Solaris 10 08. I am currently using a wireless mouse/keyboard combo (feeding through on USB cable obviously). In my installation, Solaris will not recognize my mouse . . . I mean at all (to illustrate just how green I am, I spent 2 hours online trying to figure out how to move around the graphics screen without a mouse . . . the solution? alt + F10).After spending several hours looking up help, I've tried to solutions: cfgadm and kdmconfig. Under kdmconfig -t, (XSun) the test IS recognizing my mouse. However once the test begins I get a lovely batch of fatal errors and it hangs. Under cfgadm, Solaris recognizes one USB connected and configured port (makes sense). Please help. It is frustrating to want to learn, and then spend a total of over 10 hours simply trying to get a mouse to work, yet fail repeatedly. Thanks to all.
