Sorry for making this post so generic. I'm trying to see if there are tools that exist that look at local network/system configurations and find problems... for example: - NTP server configured that cannot be reached (can cause the system to drift because nobody is alerted to the fact that the... NAME
mge-ellipse - Driver for MGE UPS serial SHUT Protocol UPS equipment NOTE
This man page only documents the hardware-specific features of the mge-ellipse driver. For information about the core driver, see nutups- drv(8). SUPPORTED HARDWARE
mge-ellipse should work with all recent MGE UPS models which use a serial protocol at 2400 bps, however I only tested it with a Ellipse 800S model so at the moment only the feature found is this (low end) model are supported. Older models (Pulsar series) use the U-Talk protocol and should use the mgeups driver. EXTRA ARGUMENTS
This driver supports the following optional settings in the ups.conf(5): lowbatt=num Set the low battery warning threshold at which shutdown is initiated by upsmon(8). The factory default value is 30 (in percentage). offdelay=num Set the timer before the UPS is turned off after the kill power command is sent (via the -k switch). The factory default value is 120 (in seconds). ondelay=num Set the timer for the UPS to switch on in case the power returns after the kill power command had been sent but before the actual switch off. This ensures the machines connected to the UPS are, in all cases, rebooted after a power failure. The factory default value is 13 (in 10 seconds units). debug=1 logs quite a lot of debugging information to syslog. BUGS
The driver should be more generic to be able to handle the capabilities of the whole range of MGE UPS models using the SHUT protocol. AUTHOR
