Geneious is an integrated bioinformatics tool suite for manipulating, finding, sharing, and exploring biological data such as linear and circular DNA sequences, proteins, phylogenies, chromatograms, 3D structure information, publications, etc. It features sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis, restriction analysis, contig assembly, access to biological databases at NCBI and elsewhere (PubMed, Nucleotide, PopSet, SNP, Structure, PFAM, etc.), BLAST, and more. New features added in the Pro version only include Unified Sequence Search, a new BLAST searching interface including batch searching and improved handling of results, a new 3D Structure Viewer, the ability to select parts of a structure and modify their appearance individually, and real-time Restriction Analysis and ORFs. Find restriction sites and ORFs are now part of the Sequence View, allowing real-time updating of sites as options are changed. A new color scheme where colors reside in an alignment according to similarity was implemented.
