ExactImage is a fast C++ image processing library.Unlike ImageMagick, it allows operation in severalcolor spaces and bit depths natively, resulting inmuch lower memory and computational requirements.Some optimized algorithms operate in 1/20 of thetime ImageMagick requires, and displaying largeimages can be as fast as 1/10 of the time the"display" program takes.

The PDF codec was improved for lossless embedding of JPEG data (without recompression). It was also improved to pass remaining compression arguments down to the image codecs to control the actual image format in finer detail. The PNM decoder was improved to accept more esoteric whitespace combinations in the header. The Data Dependant Triangulation scale was ported to the new image iterator. The optimized orthogonal rotate now works for more image depths. The embedded dcraw code was updated to version 8.89.
