The Frink Language 2008-10-21 (Default branch)

Image Frink is a calculating tool and programming language designed to help you in the real world. It tracks units of measurement throughout all calculations and ensures that answers are correct. It converts between systems of measurement, and has a huge library of physical data. It is both a simple calculator for quick calculations and a full-fledged programming language for large tasks. It draws high-quality graphics, handles conversions between time zones, currencies, and historical values of the U.S. dollar and the British pound, translates between several languages, does date/time math, and more. This release allows text to be aligned to various sides (left, right, top, bottom, etc.) in Frink's new graphics library. In addition, an issue with not repainting a graphics window the first time it was maximized has been fixed. Image

NAME
expm1d64(), expm1d128(), expm1d32() - decimal exponential minus 1 functions SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
The function is equivalent to but may be more accurate for very small values of x. The and functions are useful to guarantee that financial calculations of (((1+x)**n)-1)/x are accurate when x is very small, namely: The preceding example might be applicable when calculating small daily interest rates. is a version of it takes a argument and returns a result. is a version of it takes a argument and returns a result. These math functions are supported for HP-UX 11i Version 3 September 2008 Update and forward. USAGE
To use any of these functions, compile with the option. Make sure your program defines and then includes Link in the math library by specifying or on the linking command line. For more information, see the at the following site: RETURN VALUE
returns +-0. If x is +infinity, returns +infinity. If x is -infinity, returns -1. If x is NaN, returns a quiet NaN. returns +infinity (or, in some non-default rounding direction modes, the maximum finite number) in lieu of a value whose magnitude is too large, and raises the overflow and inexact exceptions. raises the underflow exception whenever a result is tiny (essentially subnormal or zero) and inexact. raises the inexact exception whenever a rounded result does not equal the mathematical result. ERRORS
If the correct value would overflow, sets to SEE ALSO
