SYSLINUX is a collection of boot loaders for the Linux operating system which operates on Linux EXT2/EXT3 filesystems, MS-DOS FAT filesystems, network servers using PXE firmware, or from CD-ROMs. SYSLINUX has an advanced extension API and contains two optional menu systems. It also includes MEMDISK, a tool for booting legacy operatingsystems from non-traditional media like PXE or CD-ROM.

This release introduces sevral new features. The most significant one is a new "hybrid mode" for ISOLINUX, which allows a single image to be booted either from CD-ROM or from a hard disk/flash media, for example USB sticks. Additional news includes tab completion of label names, as well as better support for Microsoft SDI images.
