WordPress is a state-of-the-art, semantic, personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, Web standards, and usability. This is a security and bugfix release. All users are encouraged to upgrade. There are two security-related fixes in this version. The first is to guard against a weakness in the random number generation in PHP's mt_rand() function. The second is to guard against relaxed field-length checking in MySQL. By taking advantage of these two weaknesses, it may be possible for an attacker to gain unauthorized access to your Web application. More details are available on the WordPress Development Blog.
