Opera is a full-featured Internet tool, most notably a fully standard conforming Web browser. Opera includes pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated searches, and advanced functions like a password manager, mouse gestures, native Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) support, an email program, RSS newsfeeds, and IRC chat. It is designed to be fast and highly customizable.

GUI layout and functionality were optimized. Spatial navigation highlighting was introduced. Customization and accessability were improved. Opera Mail is now more secure, reliable, and faster. The rendering engine and JavaScript/DOM were vastly improved. 64-bit FreeBSD and Linux builds as well as Qt4 builds are available. 32-bit and 64-bit plugins now work out of the box in 64-bit Linux builds.
