Fakeroot-ng runs a program while fooling it intothinking it is running with root privileges. Whenthe program does something that only root can do(e.g. create a device file), fakeroot-ng emulatesthe appropriate system calls so that the programgets a consistent view of its actions. Unlike theoriginal fakeroot, fakeroot-ng uses the ptraceinterface, which means that it will (soon) supportemulating chroot jails properly.
