Laptop Mode Tools allows you to control variouspower management settings based on AC/batterypower state. Among other things, it controlsLinux's "Laptop Mode" feature that allows yourhard drive to spin down for extended periods. Itcan also control CPU frequency scaling and screenblanking timeouts (both terminal and X). Itsupports automatic hibernation when battery islow.
