I am getting a character with a "question mark inside a box". Does anybody know what ascii character i.e. what ascii number would it be. Why is there a difference in number of records.
Is the converson chopping off any records.
All i am doing is just a conversion using the following script

I've been having trouble trying to read an ASCII file. I'm on an IRIX machine, by the way. I've tried "cat" and I get a bunch of unreadable text, and the "string" command gets the "Command not Found" error. Please advise.

WildMidi_MasterVolume - sets the overall audio level of the library.

SYNOPSIS

int WildMidi_MasterVolume (unsigned char master_volume)
DESCRIPTION
Sets the overall library volume level to master_volume. The range of master_volume is between 0 and 127 with 100 being the default.
RETURN VALUE
Returns -1 on error otherwise returns 0
