amavisd-new is a high-performance and reliable interface between MTAs and one or more contentcheckers, including virus scanners, and/or theMail::SpamAssassin Perl module. It talks to an MTAvia (E)SMTP or LMTP, or by using helper programs.No timing gaps exist in the design, which couldcause a mail loss. It is normally positioned at ornear a central mailer, not necessarily where theuser's mailboxes and final delivery takes place. License: GNU General Public License (GPL)Changes:
Regular expressions were simplified to avoid Oerl crashing on very long degenerated addresses in a header. Parsing of header field names is stricter to avoid duplicating a Subject header field under rare circumstances. Policy bank name from AM.PDP protocol is now untainted to avoid SQL errors. Handling of status EAGAIN in SMTP client code was improved. The number of arguments to a file(1) utility now obeys a POSIX program argument space limit. Sprintf format for conversion of 64-bit values was fixed. AV entries for F-PROT fpscan and fpscand were added, and a BitDefender bdscan entry was updated.Image

NAME

       postfix-add-filter - add filter service to Postfix master.cf

SYNOPSIS

       postfix-add-filter [smtp service name...] [smtpd port...]

DESCRIPTION

       The  postfix-add-filter(8)  command  adds an smtp service named smtp service name and and smtpd server listening on smtpd port to etc/post-
       fix/master.cf to facilitate integration of SMTP filters such as amavisd-new or clamsmtp.  The configuration is based on the upstream recom-
       mendations for amavisd-new 2.6.0.  Adminstrators should verify it is appropriate for their requirements.

       The original file is copied prior to modification and left in /etc/postfix to make it possible to revert changes easily.

       Available in the Debian package for Postfix version 2.5.3 and later.

DIAGNOSTICS

       If  the given smtp service name or smtpd port already appear in the master.cf, a message will be printed to standard out and master.cf will
       not be modified.

ENVIRONMENT

       MAIL_CONFIG
	      Directory with Postfix configuration files.

	      The postfix-add-filter(8) command should use this, but it currently doesn't.  It is hard coded  to  /etc/postfix.   This	should	be
	      changed.

       None
