BG-Rescue Linux is a Busybox and uClibc-basedrescue system with kernel 2.4.26 which supportsthe NTFS 2.1.6b driver. It is loaded either fromtwo floppy disks or from one 2.8MB El Torito CD.The system runs entirely in RAM. It supports awide range of hardware and filesystems, and canserve as a full backup/restore system for MSWindows systems that use FAT12, FAT16, or FAT32. It also includes bzip2, cabextract, cmdftp,cramfs, dosfstools, e2fsprogs, gpart, lilo,loadlin, lphdisk, mdadm, ms-sys, ntfsprogs,pcmcia-cardmgr, progsreiserfs, reiserfsck,smbclient, syslinux, umsdos-utils, and zip. Thereis support for automatically loading the F-Protantivirus program from CD-ROM.

This release updates the whole system and all integrated programs to recent versions, and adds things like full NTFS write support (using FUSE 2.7.2 and ntfsprogs 2.0.0), lzma compressed initrd as a ramdisk, limited DVD+RW write support, and more.
