rsyslog 3.10.3 (Development branch)

Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd. Among other features, it offers support for reliable syslog over TCP and RFC 3195, writing to MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, fully configurable output formats (including great timestamps), the ability to filter on any part of the syslog message, and on-the-wire message compression. It is designed as a drop-in replacement for stock syslogd and thus is able to work with the same configuration file syntax. Of course, some enhanced features require changing the configuration file, but in general, this should be fairly easy. License: GNU General Public License (GPL) Changes:
This release offers a "disk-assisted" mode to the in-memory message queue. Queued messages are automatically persisted to disk if there is need to do so. This, for example, is the case when the in-memory queue is full or rsyslogd needs to shut down. The new engine also comes with a full-featured, dynamic worker thread pool. A maximum number of workers can be defined. They are started and shut down automatically on an as-needed basis. This is an important feature for multi-core machines. This is a recommended update for users of the v3 branch.Image
