SystemRescueCd is a Linux system available from a bootable CDROM that provides an easy way to perform administrative tasks on your computer, such as creating and editing the partitions of the hard disk or backing up data. It contains a lot of system utilities (such as parted, partimage, and fstools), and basic programs (such as editors, midnight commander, and network tools). It also includes GParted, a Partition Magic clone that makes editing partitions easy with its graphical user interface. This release updates the kernel to 2.6.27.19 (the ext4 patch queue has been merged in linux-stable), updates ntfs3g to 2009.2.1, fsarchiver to 0.4.3, gparted to 0.4.3, and speakup driver to 3.0.3_p20090222, fixes problems with the function keys in Midnight-Commander in terminals, and adds crossdev to make it easier to compile 64bit programs or kernels, lxde-terminal, xarchiver (a graphical file archiver), and xfburn-0.4.0 (simple CD/DVD burning software).
