LiVES is a simple to use yet powerful videoeffects, editing, conversion, and playback systemaimed at the digital video artist and VJ. It usescommonly available tools (Mplayer, ImageMagick,and GTK+), so it works on most Unix-likesystems. It runs under Linux, BSD, Mac OSX/Darwin, IRIX, and openMosix. It can handlealmost all types of video, and is fully extendablethrough plugins and the included plugin buildertool. External control of VJ features (e.g. with MIDI orjoystick) has been implemented. Regressions insingle image preview and rendered generators werefixed. Keyboard support for some alternatekeyboards was added. Slow opening for ogg/theorafiles with no audio was fixed. A crash whenopening ogg/theora files with odd height has alsobeen fixed. Initial Spanish and Italiantranslations were contributed.
