I am constantly coping files to and from my AIX boxes. I finally got sick of all the FTP and using third party desktop applications and installed Samba on my NIM box and shared out my home directory. On my Windows workstation, I mapped the N drive (N for NIM) to the share and now if I want to upload or download files to any of my AIX boxes, I just go through my N drive and then scp the file to other servers. It is much easier and faster than FTP. Also, since it acts like a Windows drive, I can attach files directly from that share into e-mails. Very nice.

From my smb.conf:
Code:
[homes]
        volume = %H
        comment = %U's home directory (%H)
        writeable = yes
        browseable = no
