UNIX for Advanced & Expert Users

I don't know if this is a dummies question or expert question but here goes:


Can you completely mirror a harddrive/hardrives that run AIX on a Windows 2000or LInux based box. Ideally, you would connect the computrer to the AIX box via a LAN, then copy from there. Or is there a better way to do it, or is it even possible? Then, once the harddrive/drives have been mirrored onto their own personal hard drive on the windows 2000 or linux box, can you then execute any programs stored there via an emulator?

well i dont really consider that mirroring.

as aix has a great disk manager.

but if you consider mirroring just a copy of your data and forget about the disklayout then yeah. it will work so long as you keep all the uid/gid and perms set correctly,. IE tar and what not.
