Looping processes
Hi,

Can anyone tell me how do i check the looping processes in unix and how can i resolve it.

i haven't heard a thing as looping process, will you be more clear about what they are?

If you mean a runaway process (like and endless loop) try the top command. Look at the cpu time column.

Once you find a process like that
Code:
kill -9 <pid>

where <pid> is the process id of the process you want to stop. You have to log on as root to do this if the process does not belong to you.
