I am using "trap" command in my script to prevent the user from running Ctrl-C during the its execution. My script creates number of children processes which in turn create some children processes as well during the execution.
When user / tester tries to run Ctrl-C, the parent process is preserved by "trap" command, but all children processes are killed.
Is there a way to keep the whole process tree intact?
May be somebody saw this issue before. Thanks a lot for any advice -A

For application users you may need to use stty turn off intr, quit and maybe kill .

To see current values ... after executing the user .profile.
stty -a

Usually intr is set to ctrl/C.
To turn it off in user .profile or the application script:
stty intr ""


Important: Don't disable intr in root .profile or /etc/profile. Only at a user or application level.
