umask : improper mask
Dear Guru,

I see the result after I run the script as below

^M: Permission denied
umask: Improper mask
I don't know what does it mean so please explain to me.

^M indicates that you probably have some carriage return characters in your script. Did you develop it on Windows and then transfer it to Unix? If so, you need to convert the file format, as Unix and Windows use different line terminators. Try dos2unix or tr -d '\r' < dosfile > unixfile.
