Hi guys,,

i know that read is used to get single line from a text fie.
But my script is using two arguments along with the read command, which i am not able to understand.
I am pasting the function in which read is used. THis function is later called in the main script which comes later in the script.

cnt variable is the number of arguments passed to the main script when it is triggered.

Hi,
read reads a line from seeimds_cnt.asc and takes the first two words (strings separated by one or more whitespace) and assigns those values to the variables cnt and rest.
