script not executing
Hi ,

Kindly advice whats wrong with this script. It is not executing.

...#

#!/bin/ksh
find. -name "b.log"
if [ $? -eq 0 ]; then
echo "1"
fi
...#

You still don't use code tags, why?
Put a blank between find and the dot as a first step.

Post the error message please.

actually I dint get it clearly ...trust me I tried .....can u explain me how to do it once again.....please dont mind

find . -name "b.log"

Need space after find and before .

But $? will always return 0, that wont show if anything was found just that the command executed properly.

Code:
#!/bin/ksh
findit=`find . -name "myfile.txt" | wc -l`
if [ $findit -eq 0 ]; then
        echo "None Found"
else
        echo "Found Some!"
fi

See this:

[ c o d e ]
for a in something; do
echo something else
done
[ / c o d e ]

If you now remove all blanks in [ c o d e ] and [ / c o d e ] the forum will be able to substitute it as bulletin board tags and you will have the following:

That's it.
