unable to redirect output

I have a script on Linux that is using sfdisk to partition a usb drive.

I'm trying to redirectory the standard out and standard error which works, however, there is still messages being diplayed.

I guess it's kernel messages?

Is there a way to redirect this output?

Thanks

Hi,
and what are the messages displayed? Do You have other statements in Your script? Or is it the complete script You showed?
This may be a long shot, but what happens if You put the statements in a script, and then run the script with something like

./script.sh &> /dev/null

??

Thats the exact code with in a script. It doesn't matter if he code is executed from the command line or with in a script.

There are messages being redirected from stdout and stderr, but the the messages comming from the hard drive access still show on the screeen.

The same messages can be viewed in the 'dmesg' output. so these are kernel messages.

Is there a way to trap or redirect kernel messages?
