/etc/timouts to impose limits to a login session...

You don't have to do it with a script, you simply have to create a new file :
/etc/timouts. (if it dos'nt exist)

The/etc/timeouts file is used by timeoutd (8) to impose limits on whattimes particular users or groups of users can login on particular terminals, how long a user can be idle (no activity on the terminal), howlong a user can be logged in for in a single session and how much timea user can spend on a set of terminals each day.

Read this link , it hope it will help:
Ubuntu Manpage: timeouts - user login/idle/session time limits
