find grep and list file name

find . -exec grep "something" {} \;
this command only show the grep data but doesn't show the file name and path, how to show file path in this command?

try:
Code:
find . -exec grep -H "something" {} \;

Or perhaps more efficient... or if you are using a non-GNU grep:

Code:
find . -type f | xargs grep "something"

In fact, if you were using GNU grep you may as well use -R rather than find?

Or just use grep by itself, like this
grep -ril "172.17.0.0 network" *
this will recursively check from the current directory down, ignoring case, and list the files that "172.17.0.0 network" are in.
-r = recurse down from the current directory
-i = ignore the case of the argument
-l = list the file
