Question remove first few words from a line
Hi All,

Sample:

4051 Oct 4 10:03:36 AM 2008: TEST: end of testcase Checking Interface after reload, result fail

I need to remove first 10 words of the above line and output should be like

Checking Interface after reload, result fail

Please help me in this regard.

If all the first ten fields are separated by a single space,

Code:
cut -d ' ' -f11- file

If the first ten characters will always contain exactly two colons, it might be simpler to split on those.

Code:
cut -d: -f3- file

(This would leave a leading space.)

If "testcase" always precedes the data you want, you can use awk and specify a delimeter like so:

awk -F'testcase ' '{print $2}'
