Shell Programming and Scripting

I have a java program that runs on a unix server that prompts the user for input and provides a default value to the user.

So it does something like this:

Enter source server name <source_server_name>:


Enter target server name <target_server_name>:

I just hit enter to take the default values.

I want to write a tcl script that executes the java program and provides a carriage return to accept the defaults.


Is there a tcl command that would do this?

You should do this from Expect, a Tcl extension that is designed to do just what you're asking for.
