Need to search for a file which has a "cad" content in it?
Hi Guys,

I need to search for a file which has the "cad" content in it.
I forgot the file name.

could you people give me the command to figure it out?

grep -lrw 'cad' <path_to_search>

if r and w doesnt work on some UNIX. use below:

find ./* -type f | xargs grep -l 'cad'
# 3

Well, I certain there's a better way, but I just use grep string * from the directory I want to search... or grep string * -R

but I'm a n00b at the deeper stuff, which is why I lurk here. Smilie
