To search for folders alone?
hi Guys,

Here i am again,,
I need to search for folders alone present in the system,,
I tried this command,,

find / -name "name of folder" -print

But am getting the name of the files also.. i want only the folders name

Thanks guys,,,
I know i have to repeat the last statement again in few mins..hoping to do so

find -type d

The manual page for find might be worth a look. Of course, it helps if you know that "folders" are usually called "directories" on Unix.

That's the stupidest thing I have heard. You still need manual pages. Anyway, you can usually find them on the web as well.
