I think Jim means that there were two different forum pages on the same topic by you and he's merged them together here, I suspect he's not talking about your perl issue.

As for that problem, I believe perl is complaining about your dynamic linker ('ld') at that 'configure' step. The problem is, I've never seen that happen before Smilie Smilie
My best guess is that it seems to be talking about a subdirectory naming clash but that seems really odd to have...

Two suggestions (based on my possibly flawed assumption of the issue so I won't be offended if you get a second opinion Smilie):
1. Try compiling it again, but do it as a non-root user in your home directory (you may need to delete the cache file configure created on the first try) and post the results here. (You won't be able to do the 'make install' step but everything up to that will work as a regular user).

2. Grab a compiled version of perl for HPUX from the internet (cheating, but often easier)

Hi Jim,

I have removed cache configure files and tried to do the installation of binutils as my login,But I got these messages:

# rm -r config.cache

$ ./configure
./configure[424]: ./config.log: Cannot create the specified file.
$ make
make all-recursive
Making all in doc
Making all in po
/bin/sh ./libtool --mode=compile cc -Wp,-H256000 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -D_GNU_SOURCE -DHOST_HPPAHPUX -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -DHPUX_CORE -I. -I. -I./../include -I./../intl -I../intl -g -c archive.c

Could you please shed some more lights on this ?

It's telling you that you don't have permissions to write into the directory there. Run it as you from your home directory over files you own.
